Thinking about it although I can obviously understand why this would be unpopular with people from the other side of Coventry building an arena by the Ricoh COULD work. Afterall City's attendances have risen slightly since moving to the Ricoh so theres no reason why the Blaze wouldn't rise too. Good pubs up there too. Would be interesting to see how it would work if Blaze home games got changed to Saturday evenings. That way we might be able to attract some of the City crowd who are looking for an alldayer. It could also cause major traffic conjestion with so many people coming and going at the same time but theres always risks involved with anything like this.A few points
1) I'm just curious where exactly are these good pubs?
2) If the games got changed to a saturday my children and I would not be able to attend. And as blazeboy said it would mean people having to chose between hockey and footie, as I have said many times, the footie tends to win so it would reduce our crowd size making the move to a bigger venue pointless.
3) If we had a higher number of footie fans in the crowd I would be very very worried about the potential for trouble.
I know I could be seen as being setriotypical there, and I mean no offence to anyone personally however I have never had a good experiance either at the football, watching the football in a pub, or being behind a bar while it is shown. Football fans in large numbers, drinking, to me mean trouble. (This is only my personal opinion and I am aware that many people will not agree with me)
The point still stands We're a family sport, do we really want the potential for trouble?
Do we not have a largely undeserved bad rep as a fan base as it is?
4) As many have said the traffic would be a nightmare.
