Heard on Mercia earlier that Blaze are looking to leave the Sky Dome and move to a bigger arena with two ice pads. Can see this being at least 3 or 4 years off but still exciting stuff.

This has been banded about for the last few years. At one point Patrick Cassidy was going to build a new rink for us near the footie ground, (I spoke to him personally and had this confirmed). This was about 2 years ago. I was told by someone else that the council had problems with this and therefore didn't grant planning permission. Has the council has done a U turn?

No No please No not anywhere near the Rioch please maybe the fan base is outgrowing the Skydome but please keep a new rink well away from up there why,,,, 1) transport if you live in coventry non-existent 2) Skydome location means a cross section of drinking establishments, Rioch arena uhhh Rowleys Green Social Club 3) The poxey island at the bottom of Burnaby Road and Holbrook Bridge bottle neck time. So unless the club are going to hire buses like the footy team does or run canal barges from the coventry canal basin !!!!! Please Please not up there !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As most other clubs have to travel along the M1 or M6 (north or south) to get to Coventry, if it was built somewhere near Walsgrave (Showcase area ) might be a good idea............i'm sure there is still a little bit of land left up there!!!!!!!!!

I don't think there is very much land left there. A friend of mine actually owned the land before it was built upon, when it was all his farm, he sold it to the developers, and I'm sure he said that all of it has been used, I could be wrong thou

Somewhere like the NEC would be ideal (I know probably impractical) as it is easy to get to and would increase the catchment area which would boost the revenue stream.

At 15 quid a ticket, the people running the club appear to need no help increasing the revenue stream themselves, thanks...just stick another few quid on the price and rely on us muppets to pay it...

Thinking about it although I can obviously understand why this would be unpopular with people from the other side of Coventry building an arena by the Ricoh COULD work. Afterall City's attendances have risen slightly since moving to the Ricoh so theres no reason why the Blaze wouldn't rise too. Good pubs up there too. Would be interesting to see how it would work if Blaze home games got changed to Saturday evenings. That way we might be able to attract some of the City crowd who are looking for an alldayer. It could also cause major traffic conjestion with so many people coming and going at the same time but theres always risks involved with anything like this.

Knock down demand(the ghost town night club) and the post office (it will be gone soon so why prolong the pain) and built it there!! PERFECT!!

Put it over by the airport somewhere...perfect for me Im sure there's no-where in the center for the new rink to go so it'll have to be on the edge of Coventry somewhere, so the Ricoh / Airport ;-) would be best, easy to get to/from

Saturday nights would be a disaster, if you are not a city fan you would have to choose footie or hockey, all us baggie, villa fans etc would struggle to watch home footie and get to the blaze the same night.
